Insurance for Christian Rehab, Explained Plainly

Cost shouldn’t be a mystery, and it shouldn’t keep you from asking for help. We’ll walk through your coverage with you before any decision is made.

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
Proverbs 3:5–6 · ESV
Three words worth knowing

How addiction treatment coverage usually works

Most health plans include some coverage for substance use treatment. These three terms decide most of what you pay.

Deductible
What you pay each year before your plan starts sharing the cost.
Out-of-pocket maximum
The most you would pay in a year for covered care. After that, the plan pays.
Prior authorization
Approval your insurer may require before detox or residential care begins.
Verifying your benefits

What a benefits check is, and what it isn’t

It is

  • A review of your benefits for addiction treatment
  • An estimate of what your plan may cover
  • A clear explanation in plain words

It isn’t

  • A guarantee that your insurer will approve care
  • A guarantee of payment
  • A commitment to start treatment
Integrity over income

No surprises about cost

Our founders started Shepard & Stone because they watched treatment centers where, in their words, “it was all about the money.” We won’t be one of them.

Before anyone arrives, you’ll know what your plan is expected to cover, what you may owe, and what your options are if you don’t have insurance. If cost changes, we’ll tell you first.
